General and Preventive Dentistry
We are improving the oral health of all by expanding access, affordability and having a greater focus on preventing dental disease – rather than just treating it. Oral health is the health of your mouth and everything in it, including teeth, gums, throat, and the bones around the mouth.
The Need for General and Preventive Dentistry
Oral health is an important part of and the most underrated aspect to one’s overall full-body health. Poor oral health can lead to problems such as gum disease, tooth decay and bad breath, and contribute to diabetes, clogged arteries and pregnancy difficulties. With proper guidance and support, providers and patients partner together to design a personal oral health plan to transform and improve your overall health, and most importantly to prevent future dental complications.
Revolutionizing oral health care for everyone
At Advantage Dental+, we provide a number of general and preventive dental treatment options.
Teeth Cleaning
A dental cleaning is an opportunity for a dentist or dental hygienist to provide routine oral health care for a patient. We recommend patients schedule routine teeth cleanings with their local dental office at least once every two years to maintain good oral health. During a teeth cleaning, you can expect your dental professional to remove plaque and tartar that harms tooth enamel over time, check for cavities and the health of your gum tissue, and polish and floss your teeth.
Tooth Filling
A tooth filling is one way for your dentist to treat a small cavity or crack in a tooth. There are different options for materials that can be used in a tooth filling, so be sure to consult with your dentist what the best option for you might be.
Root Canal Therapy
A root canal may be required to save an infected or injured tooth. Root canal therapy, a type of endodontic treatment, is a method used to save the natural tooth and possibly avoid the need for a dental implant.
Dental Sealants
Used in tandem with at-home oral health care, including regular teeth brushing and flossing, dental sealants are a recommended dental preventive care treatment option used by dentists to maintain the health of patients' teeth. A sealant will provide a coat around each of your teeth, notably in areas that are harder to clean with toothbrushes and floss, and protect from tooth decay.
Oral Cancer Screening
During your visit to the dental office, your dentist or dental hygienist might recommend a screening for oral cancer. The screens are typically quick and do not cause any pain.
Early detection of any type of cancer is key, and the screening enables your oral health professional to detect any signs of oral cancers, even at their earliest stage(s) when they may not be visible yet.
Pediatric Dentistry
Developing good oral health care habits is especially important for our youngest patients. Children can be seen by the dentist as soon as their first teeth start to erupt as an infant. Dental care for children can be a fun, learning experience. It is our goal to teach children the tools necessary to maintain a lifetime of optimal oral health.

Dental X-Ray
During your appointment, your dentist might utilize digital dental x-rays. This type of x-ray delivers significantly less radiation and provides a higher image quality, resulting in better and safer care. In addition, our digital x-rays do not contain fixer, developer, and other solutions that can harm our environment. X-rays help your dentist view un-erupted or impacted teeth, as well as sinus conditions, and lesions or fractures in the jaw.
